We are all seeking acceptance.
Everyone’s story is unique.
One of our men who believed gaol was HOME, a place where he had family and friends recently shared with a corporate team that he didn’t trust anyone and felt he had no chance of being accepted into ‘a normal community’ or have a proper job until he came to our community.
He believed his experience with Cana supported him to understand that he is capable and trustworthy and as a result is now working, has a positive social life, and has also learned the joy of giving.
His employer recently rewarded him with a work car and his way of showing his gratitude to Cana was to donate his Ute for others to use. He could have sold it, had a holiday, or enjoyed some financial freedom but he felt gifting this was part of his healing and a recognition that supporting others is what builds positivity and hope.
