The sunflower… this beautiful flower
the sunflower symbolises positivity
happiness, optimism, strength
loyalty and love.

It is the national flower of the Ukraine.

Our news fills with such sadness
of crazy behaviours, as media share
the invasion of Ukraine.

 The sunflower ties us all to the Ukraine
community, we acknowledge their pain
we share our love, we hope for kindness
we share our strength and courage.

The sunflower creates a hope for us all.

Its seeds provide food, sustenance
strength and when processed, oil…
the sunflower, as name suggests
is like the sun.

Its spiritual meaning is for peace
and true faith.

Today they bring us to reflect
to consider there is something
bigger and brighter.

There is a kindness in their actions
of facing the sun for light. And in moments
of darkness, turning toward each other
for warmth, and brightness, for energy and
strength in their community.
